Elsie
I can't believe I just made three posts without Elsie in them!!! This must be some sort of a record. I don't have any great photos of the girl, but I have to post something so here you go. My little angel.
Cupcakes
So I hosted a baby shower for a friend and I had the pleasure of making the cupcakes for the event. We were doing a bug theme so I made a caterpillar and some beetles with the left over cupcakes. Like most cute things this took time. I would venture to say that the beetles were actually easier then putting all the little legs on the caterpillar. I might do the beetles for Elsie's birthday what do you think?

The Trees
Well I hate to make all you New Englanders jealous but the trees on my front lawn are blooming!! I have no idea what they are but they are soooo pretty. They have these tiny purple flowers all over the branches and coming out of the bark in places. The branches literally look purple. These pictures are not that great but they look awesome in person...so why don't you come here and visit us to see them.

Ribbons
Well I have found yet another fun craft to do in all my spare time!!! Making hair ribbons. One of my good friends learned how to make them from her sister-in-law and then taught us!! They are really easy and fun to do. But most of all it is just fun to see them in the girls hair!! As you can see I learned two styles but I might try to figure out more soon!

Bench
Some big purchases
Well it is that time of year again...tax refund time. With the credit we got for being first time home owners we were able to buy a few things!! First off we got a table (with out chairs not my first choice), a storage bench (for a toy box) and a chair for the front room. We bought them all from Overstock.com. I have to say I am happy with all our purchases but they are not exactly what I was expecting. Mostly it was the color that looked different online but with the bench I just did not pay attention to the size of it...it is huge!!

The last and final purchase is a new car. Will bid on it on ebay and won the auction! I do not have a picture of it yet but I will post one as soon as I can. I will start by saying it is ten year old Lexus LS 400. Which might mean something to you but it does not mean much to me. I drove it for the first time today and it is pretty awesome! It rides really nice and is quite a bit bigger then the Carolla but I like it. It is definitetly a luxury car with all leather interior and wood on the doors and steering wheal.

Another round of photos
So I have to admit I feel a little guilty for not putting much content up on our blog. It is mostly a lot of cute pictures of Elsie. I guess the reason why is because I just don't think I have much of interest to share with you all except for my perfect little girl!! Who am I kidding the only reason I have a blog is so my friends and family can watch Elsie grow. So if you don't like looking at Elsie I am sorry but I am not changing the content of my blog any time soon. For those of you who like looking at Elsie and occasionally us (and I assume that means most of you) enjoy!!

Return and report
It has been a few weeks now but I just wanted to report on our date night...well actually afternoon. We had a great time as you can imagine. We dropped Elsie off at her friends house around 2:00 and then went to a late lunch. We went to an Italian buffet. It was pretty good but the absolute best thing and the reason why I want to go back is the crepes. After our bellies were bulging from "all you can eat" we went to a movie to burn off all the calories we ate. Well we did laugh a little so that might have burned a few calories! It was great fun and we have pledged to try and have a date night or afternoon at least once a month. Wish us luck!

Our fist date in months
Well today is Valentines day and yes we are actually going on a date! It will be the first one since we visited family in Utah in November. We have planed at least one other date but then Elsie got sick and could not go to play at her little friends house and spread her germs. So I hope all of you love birds have a fun and happy Valentines day I know we will!!
Trying to be like daddy
Elsie is trying to be like daddy. To start she follows him around a lot which is not surprising. She tries to put on his cuff links, his pants and would try his shirts on if she knew how. She also likes to drink from his big cup and eat ice with him (yes he gives her small pieces which she proceeds to chew just like daddy). I am sure she will only be increasing her daddy like activities as time goes on.
Here she is trying on the pants.
And here she is drinking for daddy's big cup.

A few cute ones
Well we have not been up to much lately. Just hanging out and playing a lot. Elsie is loving reading books and wants to read more then anything else. We have been able to go to the park a lot lately since the weather has been so nice (in the 60's and 70's). This of course is unseasonably warm and today we were back to seeing our breath in the cold air. She loves the swing and when asked "what do you say when you are on the swing?" she responds "Weeeeee". She also loves the slides and will climb up the steps over and over again to go down the slide. She has started saying "see ya" in addition to "bye bye". I think that is about it for all the new cute things she does...that I can remember. She does cute things all the time so it is hard to commit them to memory or to write them all down.

Gamme's visit
We are so happy to say that my mom just came out to visit us for a week. We went to lots of Church History sites and and just hung out and had fun. She and Elsie really hit it off which was so fun to watch. They read stories together and played. We had a great time with her and wish she could have stayed for longer.

Here we are at Liberty Jail where several Mormons including Joseph Smith were held with out a just cause through a very cold winter.
We also went to Nauvoo IL. We went to several of the historic sites there and also enjoyed the temple. Here we are in the freezing cold by the brick yard.
