Easter 2013

We had a fun and spiritual Easter this year. I think we confused Elsie though.

Elsie got up and the first thing we did was look for 12 eggs hidden in the front room. They were numbered and each had an object in them along with a scripture describing how the object symbolized something from Christ's last week on Earth and His resurrection. They are called resurrection eggs. She kept asking why did we know there where 12 and how did we know where they were? Then when they had no candy in them she asked about that too.

After we talked about Christ's life, death and resurrection Will and Elsie went for a walk. When they were gone I did a few things to get ready for their return as well as got ready for church which was not until 11.

When they came home Elsie magically knew there was Easter eggs hidden in the back yard. Will told her. So she ran back there and started looking for eggs and collected them all.

Then Elsie opened the plastic eggs from the back yard. Once that was done we had a treasure hunt for her Easter basket. This was fun but also confused her. The clues where typed up but she still thought I had gotten the basket for her and thanked me several times. Oh well...It was all fun.

After church we headed to Grandma's house and had dinner and took a family photo in our church clothes for Easter. It was a fun day!

Easter egg dying

We dyed Easter eggs a few days before Easter. Will's mom came down and helped Elsie make a collection of animal eggs! They both loved it. Pretty cute right. I also tried using glue dots and glitter to decorate some eggs. It worked quite well.

Fun adventures

We have had some fun adventures lately. One day we were down near the aquarium and decided to go over and hang out for a bit since our season passes are still good. Another day during spring break we went to an Aviary to see some exotic birds. I asked Elsie what her favorites where and she said the peacocks who where walking around loose in the Aviary. They even flew to the tops of the buildings to hang out too.

Elsie loves to play...

Lemonade Stand with her friend at her grandmas house. This time they were giving out free samples. They did attract a lot of neighbor kids and even one paying customer even though they protested. It was a fun afternoon in the sun.

Going for a walk

Here is a peak into our exciting lives...we went for a walk.

Soft pretzels

One Sunday I was bored and wanted to do something fun after church so Elsie and I made some pretzel dough. We mixed the ingredients, kneaded it, let it rise and then we shaped it and cooked it. It was really fun. They were so yummy too. I think we all loved the sugar and cinnamon pretzel bites the most.

Home Depot workshop

At the beginning of last month so March 2nd we went to Home Depot and did their little builders workshop. Elsie made a cute racing car. She even got to race it down a track like in a pine wood derby but in this one the cars were all the same! It was fun to do together.

Taking off the training wheels...

It was probably about a month ago that Will and Elsie took off the training wheels from her bike. They practiced a little with Will holding on and it went pretty well. Since then I have practiced with her a few times but really she would just rather ride her scooter now! I guess we need to get her out there and practicing some more otherwise she will out grow her bike and never get the use of it!

Having fun

We try to stay busy and do fun things. One day a while back Elsie and Will built some towers and they of course had to come down eventually too. Below that Elsie is dressed up to go to a super hero birthday party. I made her a super E to go on her cape and she picked out the rest of the outfit. Elsie is still learning to rump rope. She is improving and can do 5 or so jumps in a row now. We spent one fun weekend morning playing Jenga. It is fun to see who will make the tower fall.
