Father's day 2014

We did a pretty simple Father's Day this year as we had just gotten back from Kansas City. Elsie filled out a sheet about about her dad and we made him breakfast after letting him sleep in a bit. Elsie loved it and I think Will did too. We love our daddy so much. He is so kind and generous and helpful. He is an amazing dad and husband!

Kansas City 2014

We had a great time in Kansas City visiting our old home and our best friends! While there we got a little help with Catherine's hair from a mom who has an adopted daughter who is 15 or 16 now. So she showed us how to do Catherine's hair a little and did some twists that lasted about 4 or 5 days. It was cute! We mostly just hung out but one day we went to a local Farm and Elsie got to feed a baby goat and a calf after watching the mama cow get milked! We went swimming one day too. We love Kansas!

June 2014

June was a good month. Of course we started it off with Elsie's birthday and the end of school. We had fresh strawberries from our garden, the girls and I went to Kansas City for a week, we went cherry picking and Elsie did her first round of swimming lessons. We stayed busy and had lots of fun!

New planter boxes

We had some crazy bushes on the side of our hill and decided to change things a little. Will and his dad worked hard and make these amazing planter boxes and we are so pleased with them. We now have some tomatoes and other things growing there...though we did get a late start so we hope they produce a little!

Our baby turned 7!!

Our oldest baby tuned 7 in June! We love her so much. She had a fun dinner party with Grandma and Auntie Julia and us of corse! Grandma made dog buns for the hot dogs and we had pasta and mac and cheese! Then cupcakes and ice cream. Will made Elsie a treasure hunt and she found her new camel back pack for water in the dryer. It was great!

Elsie's 7th Birthday Party!

This year Elsie had another small party. It was a lot of fun though. She had three friends come over and she picked an art theme. So we learned how to mix paints to make new colors and we make clay creations and did a painting. There was a pinata and cupcakes. Before the party Elsie and I made the paint pallets to go on top of the cupcakes which was fun. It was Elsie's idea to put the streamers on the door too! It was a great party!

Catherine's one year photos

It took her a while to warm up to the photographer but I think we got some good ones! SO CUTE!

Mariposas

We raised five Painted Lady Butterflies!! Elsie loved it. She got the kit to grow them for Christmas and so she had to wait quite a while to raise them as it had to be at least 50 decrees outside for them to be released. We got them sometime in early to mid May and then we let them fly away on June 2nd! Elsie had raised butterflies at school about a month earlier and so she knew all kinds of interesting facts. She kept showing us things like the caterpillars have pro-legs and regular legs and telling us how many wings butterflies have too. It was cute and very good to see her excited about science. I have to download the pictures from my other camera where the photos releasing the butterflies are. Elsie invited several friends over to help her release them. She was very excited about having them all hold one before letting them fly away! And it worked!
