February 2016

Not much happened in February. We played and had fun build more towers and spiderwebs with tape. Valentine's day was fun we did a treasure hunt for Elsie and at the end were a few presents for her and Catherine. Will had to find his present but did not have the clues to help just hot and cold and so did I. It was fun. Oh and Levi got married! But I need to get the photos from Will! It was a lovely day but cold outside.

Elsie continued to work hard on homework and in school. She is getting so good at conversational spanish and is working on geometry and fun things like that in Math. Catherine was able to identify all but three letters while putting away her books that are shaped like the letters themselves. She also has shown some favoritism for the blue spoon when asked which one she wants with her cereal in the morning. SHe also likes the blue bowls and plates. Catherine started learning to jump on one foot too. One morning I put out her clothes and had to leave the room. She dressed herself no problem with pants and shirt on the correct way. But since then she has not been so successful though she tries.

It was a good month and we are happy.

January 2016!!

We had a good New Years or at least there was nothing unusual. We went out to Will's dad's house to hang out and for Will to watch football! We stayed over and some of Will's cousins came out too not to stay over but to hang out that night to ring in the new year with us.

January was a fun month and apparently I took a lot of photos! We did a lot of building with blocks and cooking and even did some snow sculpting and gymnastics. I had to get the picture of the three people I love most reading together! Will is reading on his tablet while the girls read books. Lots of building went on too. Then Elsie and I made homemade donuts from my Aunt Ada's recipe for Elsie's snack for activity days. They turned out pretty good but very oily. It is hard to say if it was the temp we cooked them at or the dough not being think enough or what but they were yummy just oily. A few weeks later Elsie brought home an apple pie to bake from activity days! Then we made pretzels from scratch later that month. Of course there was a drawing contest and a snow castle, if you can make it out below, oh and grandma Floras birthday! So you see we were busy people in January!

Christmas afternoon 2015

Christmas afternoon was great too. Here are some photos of us enjoying our time out at Will's dad's house. Catherine was loving her Olaf doll and brought it everywhere. We hung out for a while then opened more presents. After that we had a wonderful meal prepared by Will's dad. We played some old family games that night which was fun. The only problem was Catherine got a hold of a sharpie and drew all over the walls, linoleum floor, drapes, couch, and bed spread, among other things. It was black and was pretty bad. Will's brother went down stairs for something and came back up with the marker in hand and said we have a bit of a problem! It was so bad that only paint will fix it!

Christmas Morning 2015

It was a fun morning as should be expected. No one was sick this year so that helped. The girls got to open their stockings first and so did grandma and mom and dad. Then it was present time...and there were a lot of them. Then more showed up as aunts and uncles arrived! It was quite the mess by the end of it all! Will made us eggs and toast and we had some tater tots and sausage and other fixings too. It was fun and the girls loved their presents. Elsie loved her new water color paint set and got it out right away without us noticing. Of course the blue paint tube squirted all over the place but it washed out pretty well so nothing was ruined. Catherine loved her new Olaf doll since it was soooooo big! I got a new down jacket and Will got a new down king sized blanket! I guess we just like down.

Christmas Eve 2015

We had a fun Christmas Eve this year. Will had the day off and as I said in the last post we went tubing in the morning with Will's cousin and his family. Then we went home and cooked! We had Will's mom and sister and her husband over for dinner that night. It was fun we had ham and lots of yummy vegetables and we had pie and ice cream and maybe some other things too for dessert. Luckily Will's sister brought the pie and some other things too so it was not too much work.

Then we had the kids each open up a present we had for them and one more of their choice. The one we had them open was somewhat matching pjs. They were different patterns and colors but both had reindeer on them. Then Elsie read from the picture scriptures the story of Christ's birth found in Luke 2. While she read daddy and Catherine used our children's' nativity set to act out what was happening. Then we put he kids to bed and got ready for Christmas the next day! Grandma spent the night so she could be there when the kids got up!

December 2015

Well now that we are four moths past December I will attempt to write about it! I am hopelessly behind on here but I will keep trying. I have been experimenting on Catherine's hair and like what I came up with for Julia's second wedding event. If you recall we all went to England in October to Julia's wedding. She and Matt had a simple ceremony and ring exchange here in the states n December and so our girls got to walk down the isle again and so did Adah (holding Catherine's hand of course). This time they had baskets of fake flower peddles to throw. They both did a great job!

The rest of December was a blur as it often is. With Christmas, decorating, parties and lights to go look at things stay busy. We had some snow and made the most of it though several times we were out in back with the lights on after dark! We love our personal little snow hill! But we did venture to a lot larger hill with Will's cousin and his family on Christmas Eve day. I don't have any pictures of that though so you will have to imagine us flying down a big hill on blow up sledding tubes. It was great and there were jumps and power to get sprayed in the face with. It was up in one of the canyons so a higher elevation which around here equals lots of extra snow! December was great and a Christmas post will be coming soon...I hope!
