Elsie gave her first talk on Easter Sunday at Church. She did not get sick this time so she actually got to give the talk. She did a fabulous job. She got right up there and talked very clearly and recited her whole talk. Well maybe she went a little fast.
This is a video I took after church as I thought it inappropriate to take a video at church. It is funny though both at Church and here she started out with "For behold"...which was the beginning of her scripture she was supposed to do a month ago. But she corrected herself and went right into John 3:16.

Dyeing Easter Eggs
I am a Child of God
I got Elsie to sing this song a while back and I thought she did a great job. Sorry you might need to turn up the volume on your computer as our camera does not pick up sound very well.
Cookies for family
Even though it is a lot of work I love making sugar cookies now. That is ever since we got a great recipe and an awesome frosting one too. Well yes mostly I like to eat them but frosting and decorating them is fun too. We made these ones for a neighbor and for our family to bring to a family night with Will's aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandfather. They were a big hit.
Time off
Will has been taking days off lately to spend with us in the middle of the week. Now before you think he is so wonderful for doing that and how he is putting us first I should give you all the facts. At his job like many you earn time off as you work. Well you can accumulate a lot of time off if you never take it. Which is just what Will has done. The company has a maximum amount of time you can have saved and then you just stop earning it and you lose out! So yes Will is still a slave to his job but he has been taking days off. Which has been so fun! Today we went swimming and Tuesday we went to a movie and the Mall. A few weeks ago we went to the aquarium and here are a few shots from that.
A ball trick
Elsie is loving gymnastics! She gets to pretend to be lots of funny walking animals and do ball tricks and now more and more with out the ball. I wish we could find the time to practice more at home but I guess she is doing well anyways. She was so excited because we got to have practice in the wrestling room this week. They had been doing it in the gym with a few mats. It was scheduled to be in the wrestling room all along and some how I had told her that a long time ago. So when they did it in there she was excited. Plus it has a weird rubbery/spongy floor and is really big for running in.
Some cute stuff
When I pick the pictures to put on here I just go through all of them and pick the cute things. So some times there is not much to say about them. All I want to say here is see how cute she is and how big she is getting. She is not a little baby anymore. She is barely still a preschooler. But I am going to milk that title for another year until she actually enters school as a kindergartner.
Curls again
Every once in a while Elsie likes to have her hair put in sponge rollers over night. This particular day she also wanted mommy to wear her hair curly to church. She often takes an interst in how I wear my hair. Most of the time she does not want it curly since hers is so straight. This time she wanted to have matching curls!
Grass Head
Another wedding!
We are excited to announce another wedding in our future. Will's little brother Tyler is engaged and will be getting married on May 19th. I am not sure if Elsie is technically a flower girl or if she is just going to be dressed the same as the bride's nieces. But what ever she is they got her the cutest dress. She will not be wearing purple sock to the wedding though.
First Day of School
I wrote a while back about putting Elsie into a Spanish immersion preschool. Well we did it and she loves it. We started the week after our friends left on March 21st. She is doing really well and every day when I pick her up she says she has fun. She can not tell me what she learned each day but she has picked up several words and uses them some times. For example one night we were heating up some cold pizza for her dinner and she said the word for cold in Spanish after touching it. She also uses please, thank you, and excuse me among others. She has a Spanish CD we listen to in the car. She loves it. Elsie can sing along with just under half of the songs I would say. Though she often does not know what she is singing it is helpful to get the idea of the language and how it sounds and how it feels to speak it. From day one she has babbled a little in a fake language and says she is speaking Spanish. I think this is normal. One of my friends said her daughter who was much older when she was put in the Spanish immersion program did the same thing. But later she started to speak it better and stopped babbling. Will speaks Spanish so this will make determining if it is babble or real a lot easier!!! So far we love the program and are thinking of putting her in a few days a week in the summer as well as three days a week in the fall.
Don't judge me, the hair is crazy because it was crazy hair day...though Elsie was the only one with crazy hair! Poor kid!

Visiting the Temple

Some special people
Our best friends came to visit and we had a fabulous time!!!! It was so fun to see the two girls together again as they were inseparable when we live next to each other. They are only a day apart in age. Even though it has been a whole year since they have seen each other they picked back up where they left off. They were just so happy to see each other. Not to mention the moms and how happy they were. The time went by too quick but we have plans to see each other again soon.
Just a few things
These are just a few photos I want to share because they are cute. Elsie put her pajamas on upside down. Her feet are in the arm holes and her arms in the legs. Crazy right! But I guess most little ones do this at one point or another. Not that she is all that little any more. But her dad will let her do anything still...including tie him up in his own shirt!
