We managed to carve pumpkins a day or two before Halloween this year! First we had to wash them and then we caved them. We got them at the farmers market and Elsie picked one out to correspond to each of us in the family plus a little one to represent the baby we will be adopting...who knows when! But we are excited about it just the same.

Snow!!
I can't remember if this was the first snow but it was a very light one and Elsie still insisted in getting all bundled up and going out to play in it! She even managed to make a snow man with a little help.
The dentist
We went to the dentist for Elsie's six month check up and everything went fine. We got the go ahead to see the orthodontist already because of Elsie's cross bite. Elsie goes to see them at the beginning of December and we hope it is not going to be too hard to fix. SHe does such a great job keeping her mouth open and always earns her prize at the end.
Family Photos fall 2012
About a month ago we dragged one of our close friends to a near by farm and had him take photos of us! It was a lot of fun and Elsie did a great job. We got a ton of great photo. Here are just a few of them. It was a hazy morning and so the sun did not show up until the end but I think they turned out pretty well just the same!
Oct 19th another one bites the dust
Way back in October on the 19th Elsie lost her second tooth just two weeks after she lost the first one. They are growing quite a lot by now but here she is right after it came out. I wanted to pull it out and kept asking her if I could because it was really loose and we discovered that the new tooth was already growing in behind it! But one afternoon I heard her yell to me that she had pulled the tooth out herself! It bled a little but she did quite well with it!! And I guess it did not hurt very much either.
Drawings
Elsie has gotten in the habit of photographing her drawings on the dry
erase and the chalk boards. It is fun to have these as a memory! The bottom two photos are drawings of our family. The first one is the three of us and in the second one she added a baby to represent the one will hope to adopt.

At the farm
A few weeks ago we went to the local farm with some friends. We got to visit the animals and play on the playground. While we were there I decided to bring Will and Elsie back there on Saturday to get some quick family photos.

The aquarium
We went to the aquarium and nothing was new there but Elsie still loved it. The one big difference for me was that Elsie is now as tall as an emperor penguin! By the penguins they have the pictures of different penguins cut out to their actual size and lined up on a wall so the kids can stand by them to see which one is their height. It is a cute photo if nothing else right? For us this day in October it was yet another way to prove that this girl will not stop growing. Elsie also got brave and got close to a tarantula spider in the last photo.
The Fun Run
The PTA at Elsie's school hosted a Fun Run! Basically it was a chance for parents, family, and friends to sponsor the kids if they ran in the Fun Run. The run consisted or running around almost all the playground area (which includes several huge soccer/baseball fields). So it was probably like running around a track 2 or more times. A lot for a bunch of little kids and they did it! Elsie was not first but she did pretty well coming in somewhere in the middle. And even though she would not call people to sponsor her she did pretty well and she and her class earned an ice cream party! You can't see her in the first picture but she is running into the finish line in the second one in a white hoodie with bright colored hearts all over it.
Lemonade Stand
Elsie and her friend had a lemonade stand at Grandmas and Grandpas house again. It has been a while but we got a few shots of the fun. I think this time they actually collected a few dollars too. Usually they just use all the spare change in the house and have the people hand it to them as payment and then pretend to make change with it. It is cute but they are both getting older and starting to understand how things should work...a little!
Elsie lost her 1st Tooth!!
I could not believe it but about a month ago on Oct 6th Elsie lost her first tooth!! It had been wiggly for a bit but I still can't believe my baby is old enough to go to school and lose a tooth! We had spent the night at Grandpas and Grandmas house and sometime in the night the tooth came out. Elsie woke up before it was light out side and yelled "Mommy, Daddy my tooth fell out its in my bed". So I jumped up and turned on the light so we could look for the tooth and we found it right away. She was so excited!
It is funny because a few days before Elsie had been talking to me and asked me what would happen if it came out in the night. She wanted to know if she would choke. I told her this tooth is so small it could not choke you so don't worry...and she (I guess) stopped worrying. She did not want to pull it out either because she was afraid it would hurt and bleed and so it was really a good thing that it came out while she was sleeping that way there was no drama.

Crazy Hair day
Here are a bunch of photos of Elsie's hair on Crazy Hair day for school. As you can see we made a lot of little ponies and used all different color hair ties.
Halloween
We did our first Halloweenish thing this week. We went to a fun shopping area that decorates with a ton of witches. The witches are all life size or larger and they are doing all sorts of things. Maybe a will try and go back to get more shots of the witches, they are great. We met several friends there so that was fun too.
