Catherine's First Birthday Party

She is one I can't believe it! We had a fun party for her a few days after her birthday. I made owl cupcakes and we had kabobs and rice for lunch. It was great. Some of our close friends came as well as Aunt Julia and Grandma. Catherine got some cute toys too. It was a fun time!

Happy Birthday Catherine 2014

Catherine turned one in May. She had her first scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert complete with a candle. We waited to give her cake until her party the following Saturday! Grandma Flora came and the rest of us were there of course. It was a fun day and night. But I had to run away to go to an activity with church I was helping with. Grandma stayed a little while and they opened a present or two. Catherine is growing and changing!

Mother's Day 2014

I had a great mother's day this year! Elsie planned most of it. She wrote these clues for my treasure hunt...it was great! She made me a fan and added the chocolate pieces for my breakfast. We went to church and then Will made his mom and I am amazing dinner which I did not take photos of. It was a great day. Families are forever.

May 2014

Well I have been bad about updating this. But here are some cute photos from May. Catherine loves her books and playing with them. She started pulling up on things in May. Elsie played soccer and Catherine tried milk for the first time and sitting in a grocery cart too. She did not like the milk very much but by now she is drinking it just fine. On May 10th Catherine broke her 8th tooth and so that was fun too. Catherine turned 1 this month too! She had her well child check up and weighed in at 21 lbs and was 29 and 1/4 inches long! She is growing for sure but is still in about the 50 % for both.  Catherine also learned how to climb stairs at the end of the month. Elsie is a great big sister and an awesome daughter as you will see when I post about Mother's Day and Catherine's birthday! They grow to fast!

Easter 2014

We had a really fun Easter this year. Elsie and her aunt dyed eggs on Saturday. We did a special egg hunt on Saturday night as well during family night. We hid 12 eggs which each had an object relating to the last week or so of Christ's life and a scripture to go with it. Like a piece of bread representing the sacrament and a nail for the crucifixion. The last one is empty representing the empty tomb when Christ was resurrected. It is a good way to get the kids to go over the end of Christ's life and be excited to open the next egg. 

Easter Sunday was good too. Elsie hunted for the 2 baskets and found them after quite a while in the laundry baskets. After looking over the contents she was ready for the egg hunt. Catherine got involved at the end and found 2 eggs on her own but Elsie found lots for her too. Grandma Mary stopped by before church to drop off the dresses she made for Elsie and Catherine. We got a few photos of them and then all of us. After church we went to Grandma Flora's house and had 2 more egg hunts one on the roof and one in the condo and then we had dinner! It was a busy day but good.

April 2014

April was a good month. We went to the new aquarium and had fun there. The flowers popped up and the kids have had a good time with family. Elsie played some fun April Fools day tricks on dad and mom. One of which was making a giant rat out of paper and telling dad there was a rat in her bed!! Catherine has been growing and learning new tricks too. She started to crawl and tried out swinging for the second time this year. Catherine broke 2 new teeth this month. Catherine also started signing all done and more when eating. Grandma Mary taught Catherine "So Big" as a cute trick too. We are happy and healthy!
