The kids had no shortage of things to do in Vermont. Our rental had a playground at it and when we were at my sister's she had blue berries to pick and a trampoline. They discovered the rush for performing as they used the towels on the close line as a curtain to emerge from and demonstrate their talents for us. It was so much fun!!

Swimming in Vermont at the Lake
We rented a house in Vermont to share with my sister who lives in Boston and her family. It was great. It was a bit of a drive to my families house...well only 30 minutes but for me that is a lot! I am so used to the convenience of the city. But the rental was close to one of the big lakes we liked to swim at when we were kids. So we had to go swimming of course. The kids loved it and we liked it too.
A camp fire
We had our boy scout make us a fire in the fire pit one night so we could have s'mores. It was great fun and the kids loved it. Elsie loved watching her big cousin at work.
At the Park and Pool
We managed to get all but one cousin together in one place!! It was quite an accomplishment. It was so wonderful to see Abby and Ray and to let the kids play and spend time together. We met them at the park by the pool and played, had a picnic and then went swimming for free swim. It was great. There was a large roped off area that was 3 feet or less and so Elsie could play and swim with no help at all and even better she had cousins to play with!! Below are Nathan, Ray and Elsie there is only a total of 5 months age gap but look at the size differences!! To be fair Ray is the youngest so it makes sense that he is the smallest!
The hammock
Will brought a hammock to Vermont and he and the kids loved it. They hung it up between two trees out side out rental house. Will was able to get though several books and magazines while in Vermont. As you will notice the kids liked to get in together and be swung. It was great!

Boston
We were lucky enough to see some close friends in Boston and afterward go to our favorite stomping grounds in Jamaica Plain where we used to live. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful garden which is huge and as all arboretums it tries to display different types of trees, shrubs and flowers, basically anything that grows. I was able to collect some things for my art work here from the ground when we lived there. Though looking back I am not sure if I was supposed to! I loved it! We also drove by our old apartment.
The Children's races
While in Boston with my sister we went to the children's races. The people running the races called the age and gender for each race and the kids lined up and ran. The sun was very bright that evening and so the photos did not come out very well. It did amaze me the races started out short and then ended with 3/4 around the track and Elsie ran them all!
Girls Night
We had a girls night while in Boston with Auntie Chrissy while the boys went to a baseball game. We went out to ice cream and then came home to watch a movie and paint our toenails.
Our trip to Boston and Vermont
We made our annual trip to Boston and Vermont this August. It was great to see family and to go back to a few places we used to live. We got to see some friends too but never got out the camera so we will just have to say we loved seeing them and catching up!

Cookies and dress up
Some of the funnest things in life are cookies and dress up! So here is our little girl decorating cookies and playing dress up. I was very impressed with her fireman outfit. The soccer socks look like boots and then finding all red clothes and rolling up the capris so the "boots" would show! There was absolutely no help from me and it is very cute.
Folk and Bluegrass festival
We were excited to once again go to the free Folk and Bluegrass festival this summer! I loved it. Will liked it but wished there was more bluegrass and Elsie was miserable! She was hot and possibly a little sick so it makes seance that she was not happy. But the sickness started there and we did not recognize it very well. Oh well I had fun and it was all free. Elsie has started hiding from the camera like the shot below where she will not open her eyes!
10 years!!!!!
We do not look that old right? But we have been married for 10 years now! We had a great day. Will brought me home these flowers and then we went out to eat and to see Wicked the musical. We had a baby sitter here that was amazing and did so many fun things with Elsie and so she had fun too. It was a great anniversary!!!
A fun summer day
Will and Elsie came up with a fun game to play with the blow up pool in the backyard. Basically it consisted of running up the hill and then back down it and jumping into the pool. Here is a video of it...and then a few photos of Will actually taking the plunge and falling into the pool too. Elsie loved it!
