November 2016

In November we did a lot of fun things. Raking is part of every fall and so is playing in the leaves. Elsie saved up all her money and bought herself a new bike! She did a great job and has been enjoying her bike ever since. Catherine has finally conquered her fear of the rope bridge and Elsie had a duct tape day at school. We captured the first snow even though it did not last long. Then of course we entered the holiday season, which we kicked off with Thanksgiving and my birthday. Larry and Mary watched the girls and Will and I went on a hike. Will found it in a backpacking magazine but it was just a day hike. It was a hard climb with a lot of steep parts but we did it and got to see an amazing 360 degrees view at the top. Oh and there was a little bit of snow involved and I only had on sneakers! Needless to say I got hiking shoes for Christmas!

Halloween 2016

Here are some more pictures from Halloween. We had to practice doing Elsie's hair the way Katara does it in Avatar the Last Airbender. We did it for our party at church the week before and then Halloween at school then I redid her hair for trick or treating! Catherine's Toff headband made her hair a lot easier to do! It was a pretty fun time!

October 2016

It looks like October was a much more eventful month then September! We had yummy treats from the garden and some sticky messes made at activity days too. Catherine is a pro at putting puzzles together now and got started last fall. She put the floor puzzle together on her own but the other small ones I helped with. We had Lyndi Will's cousin make Elsie and Catherine's costumes this year for Halloween. They were so excited and she did a great job. They where Katara and Toff from the show Avatar the Last Airbender. But before Halloween we went and picked pumpkins where the girls got to use some wheelbarrows and then we carved the pumpkins with Julia and Matt. Sometime in the middle of all of this I went to Boston for a long weekend. I think it was around the 21st of October to spend a little time with my sisters. It was a busy month. We had Halloween at the end and it was a lot of fun! Parties at school and preschool and trick or treating and all that fun stuff too!

September 2016

September was a good month. We stayed busy with fun events like the state fair and Elsie's school fun run. Just some cute photos and fun times. Elsie played soccer again though I don't think I have any pictures of her doing so oops I guess I messed up there. The mini quilt at the bottom is a project I worked on last minute to enter into a contest at a local fabric shop. They were having an anniversary sale and gave out $20 gift cards to anyone who entered a mini quilt into their contest. I did not win but made sure to go and see the competition and vote for my friends quilt that told me about it and my friend won! I love to sew and it is always fun to make time to create!

And School begins...

Elsie started school in August a week after we got home from our big trip. Catherine did not start until September. They were both excited and happy to get started on a new year. Elsie was a little bit nervous because she was going to start with new teachers that she did not know but she figured it out quickly. Catherine was excited to see her good friends and has been doing great with preschool. Elsie is also doing great with school as I am writing this about six months into the school year! Yikes I have some catching up to do!!!
