Our big girl is...
SIX!!!! I was tempted to put our baby is six but it is true she is a big girl! I can't even believe it. She turn six on the last day of school. I called her grandma and uncle and aunt last minute and asked them to come over for dinner and cake. It was great Flora had a cake made at her work and brought that and I threw a yummy dinner in the crock-pot. Elsie was so happy it was her birthday. She even got to cut the cake with supervision!!!
Week three
We had a busy week the first week of June. That was the last week of school and Elsie's birthday. So we had a family party and a very scaled down friend party. Here are some shots of Catherine and us. It is fun to look back at these and realize the changes that are taking place every day!

Last Day of School
The first picture is of Elsie going into the last day or school!! It was a sad but happy day. She is with her best friend and carpool buddy. The second picture is her leaving school for the last time as a Kindergartener.
The last day of school landed on June 5th this year...so it was Elsie's birthday! I had planned to have a bucket of toys for the summer on the front steps for when she came home. I did it but she just got confused by the sign I put on it "Welcome to summer vacation"or something like that! She just thought it was for her birthday. Oh well maybe it will work better next year if i do it.

Spanish Preschool ends and play
I can not believe we are done with Spanish Preschool...for now anyways. This is Elsie on her last regular day. Then she had her play The Little Red Hen on May 22nd. I was not able to go because I was in the hospital with Catherine still but Will went and took lots of photos and videos for me. Elsie did a great job as usual and had a great time too. Oh and she was one of the little red hens.
Kindergarten Graduation
A few days before the last day of school they had a Kindergarten Graduation! It was very cute. The kids worked on some secret songs and things to get ready for it. They practiced a lot and it showed! They were adorable singing the songs and doing their lines. Not all the kids got a line so Elsie did not but she had her Spanish Preschool play (which I have not blogged about yet). The graduation included the two afternoon classes so it was a lot of kids but it was pretty quick. Each child got to shake the principal's hand and get a certificate. Then we gave Elsie's teacher a gift got a photo and took a photo with one of her neighborhood friends...but we missed our carpool buddy that afternoon so you will have to see him on the last day of school post!

Photo shoot
On May 30th just 10 days after Catherine was born we went to a photo studio and had her photos taken. She was a little fussy but did pretty well. Elsie loved it! Catherine's skin was peeling a lot so we had some of the photos touched up but not all of them. Here is a selection of what we got.
Memorial Day
This Memorial Day was pretty slow and relaxed. Will went to a family golf tournament in the morning then we just hung out all day. At the end of the day we did have Will's mom and sister over for dinner and then we hurried over to the cemetery before it closed for the night to bring flowers. We visited Will's grandparents and great grandparents graves. I did not take a picture of both graves but the one I did photograph is the one Catherine is named after, Will's great grandmother Flora C Hemingway. The C was for Christina which is one of Catherine's middle names. We did not get to see the graves of the other people she is named for because they are in Vermont and Massachusetts. Her first name Catherine is Adah's sister's middle name. Her sister Maude Catherine passed away almost 5 years ago now. Maude was named for Adah's grandmother and great grandmother too so Catherine is named for three people on that side. Her second middle name is Angel and we added it with the suggestion of her birth mother. It was a good day and good to remember those who have passed away.
Catherine's second week
Here are some cute photos of just week two of her life. She grew an inch at her second week appointment and a whole pound too. I asked if it was really possible to grow an inch in two weeks and the nurse said it is hard to measure them when they are all squished up at birth so she was probably longer then they recorded. Either way we know she is growing!
Big hands
Catherine's small little head fits in Daddy's hands just right. When Elsie was born we took a picture of her head in Will's hands. So we had to do the same for Catherine. I love baby yawns!
Sharing Catherine with family!
Almost right away after bringing Catherine home we had visitors. It is wonderful to live near family and be able to share this amazing baby with them. I did not get pictures of everyone holding her but here are a few. She even got to meet her great granddad and we got a four generation picture.
